Message from the Sheriff

Happy New Years

Welcome, 2020!

I would like to take this opportunity to extend our best wishes for a wonderful and safe New Year from all of us at the Kleberg County Sheriff's Office. We look forward to helping make 2020 a great year for our county and our community.

Each year, our office strives to improve programs and services for our community. During 2019, improvements and accomplishments include:
• Kleberg County was awarded a Federal Economic Development Grant to construct the first Regional Training Center and Emergency Operations Center. That project is set to begin construction in spring of 2020!
• Sheriff's office has implemented a new alerting software to aide deputies in identifying emergencies in the courthouse as well as all county offices.
• I have implemented a county wide Emergency Notification System for residents to receive alerts when applicable from weather impacting our area to critical incidents affecting our county residents.
• Received federal funding to purchase a drug detection canine.

I would also like to thank the community for your continued support in making these successes possible. The number of crime tips aiding in arrests could not be possible without your assistance.

As always, my commitment to our community remains strong, and I will continue to work with you to improve the quality of life for each and every one of you. It is my pleasure to say "thank you" to our community as we wish you a full year of success, happiness, and prosperity.

Have a Safe and Blessed New Year.

Sheriff Richard Kirkpatrick
